What are my options when sending money?
You can send money in a range of ways through our friends at MoneyGram and TorFX (...you'll also save on your transactions with competitve rates and low fees! Send Cash to Cash, Cash to Account, or Account to Account.
Visit us in store and we can help you work out what is the best option for you.
What will I neeed to bring with me to send money?
Your going to need photo identification so please have your drivers licence or passport handy - and of course the details of the person you're sending to!
What countries can I send money to?
Send to over 60+ countries and transfer in over 60+ currencies with our friends at MoneyGram and TorFX.
How much will it cost me to transfer money?
If you're completing a Cash to Cash transfer, or Cash to Account transfer, you'll need to do this in store through MoneyGram. Send fees will change, depending on what country you're sending to. Your expert in store will be able to give you the up to date fee amount. If you're sending Account to Account, you can do this online with us and our friends at TorFX, it's fee free!
How can I pay for my money transfer?
We will accept multiple forms of payment including cash, debit and credit card if you're sending in store. If you're completing a Account to Account transfer with us online, you can send straight from your bank account. We must have cleared funds to process the payment on your behalf, so in this instance you can't use BPAY or afterpay.
How long until the money is available in the recipient's bank account?
It can take between 3- 5 days depending on the receiving bank.
Is there an age limit for sending money?
You need to be 18 years and older.
Is there a limit on how much money can be sent?
The maximum individual or aggregate amount that can be sent and received in a rolling 30 day period is $8,000.00 USD equivalent

What should I do if the person I am sending money to is having trouble picking it up?
If you've sent with us in store, contact Moneygram directly on 1800 954 191.
If you've sent online - contact your Account Manager via their contact details on your confirmation email.
Can the person I am sending money to choose the currency they receive it in?
No, you (the "sender") will select the currency they will receive. This is due to exchange rates at the time of sending and ensuring you are not charged twice.

What is a Cash to Cash money transfer?
This is when a person receives money in cash as part of a international money transfer. EG - you send $100NZD to a relative in the UK. They get $60 GBP cash in hand (exchange rates are not true in this example).
P.S - when you send with us in store via MoneyGram, the person you are sending the cash to will need to collect the money from a MoneyGram agent.
How do I send cash to someone overseas?
Visit us in one of our 20+ stores with your passport or driver's licence, along with the details of the person you're sending money to. We offer a 10minute express cash pick up service through Moneygram.

What is a Cash to Account money transfer?
The sender (you) sends money to a receive (the person you're sending to) via MoneyGram in one of our stores. A sender pays for the transcation using cash, and the receiver gets the payment directly into their bank account.
With Cash to Account, you can send to India, China, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and more. Visit one of our Travel Money NZ stores for more info.
How do I send cash to an overseas account?
Visit us in any of our 20+ stores nationwide. Make sure you bring in the recipient's bank details, including bank name, account name and account number.

What currencies can I receive transfers in?
If receiving into an New Zealand bank account all currencies will be converted to New Zealand dollars
Receiving a money transfer in store
Visit one of our Travel Money NZ stores with your photo identification and the transaction reference number that has been provided to you by the sender.
How long after the money has been sent until I can pick it up?
This will be dependent on how the money was sent… if it is to be received as cash in can take as little as 10 minutes and will be available dependent on the receiving agents hours of operation. If this is a bank account transaction it will take 3-5 business days.
